Welcome
Welwyn Garden City Housing Association has been providing homes for older people in the Welwyn and Hatfield area since the 1960s. Being a Housing Association with charitable status, we are registered and regulated by the Housing Corporation.
Care Home Care is provided for frail older people, including those with dementia, in our 48-room Residential Care Home, Elizabeth House, in Panshanger. Sheltered Housing The Association has three Sheltered Housing Schemes in Welwyn Garden City, Woodside House, Churchfield House and Elizabeth Close, as well as Hollier Court in Hatfield and Greenfields in Cuffley. Shared Ownership Housing Willow House, Howlands, Welwyn Garden City is a new development, completed in March 2008. It is 6 two bedroom and 2 one bedroom apartments sold on a shared ownership basis. This means that those people on a low income can initially buy a 40%, 50% or 60% share by raising a mortgage. For the percentage they do not own they pay the Association a rent. As with a number of the Association's rented properties all interested applicants have to be nominated by Welwyn Hatfield Council and meet a minimum income criteria. For more information please click on Willow House. Supported and General Needs Housing The Association also owns and manages a number of other properties, mostly for older people, within the borough of Welwyn and Hatfield. Further information is available on the page headed Others. We hope this website provides you with all the information you need, but if you require further details, please contact us on 01707 390044, or visit us at our Head Office, centrally placed at 10 Parkway, directly opposite John Lewis. |
